Press release: Successful field test and conclusion of the European E-mobility project Smart Vehicle to Grid Interface (SMARTTV2G)
Munich, 28 May 2014: The forecast for the total number of e-vehicles (EV) within the European Union by 2020 surpasses one million. This development creates an increased and cross-country demand for unhindered access to public charging stations and electricity supply in order to avoid network congestion and/or blackouts. Hence, the EU is confronted with an urgent need for intelligent charging infrastructure solutions for electric vehicles. The EU-promoted Vehicle to Grid Interface (SMARTV2G) project, initiated to develop a solution for this complex challenge, has now been finalized upon 3 years duration by means of the presentation of system integration measures and a successfully completed field test.
